Ask Mark Wildman: How Often Do You Train?

programming Nov 01, 2026

"How often should I train?" is the wrong question.

Most people ask it looking for a number. Three days. Five days. Six days.

But a number without context is useless.

Here's the real standard: train more days than you rest.

Your body isn't designed to sit still. Your brain isn't either. Most of the dysfunction people deal with—physically and mentally—comes from being stagnant. Not moving, not learning new skills, not going new places.

If you work a job that breaks your body down, training isn't optional. It's prehab. It's how you undo the damage before it compounds.

And training isn't just about reps and weight. It's community. It's showing up somewhere you have to interact with people—fight class, dance class, anywhere but headphones-on isolation.

Mark gets real about his own training history, why he pushes a five-day minimum, and why "looking good" was never the point.

Get better at being human.
